Looking at my reflection in the mirror, I attempt to calm my breathing. Jaxon had told me to get dressed-up for a romantic evening and to meet him in the living room once I’m ready. My little black dress ends just a few inches above my knees, and I’ve decided to go with a more natural look for my makeup tonight.

I can’t even remember the last time I got this nervous before going on a date. This brings me back to when I was in high school and barely knew anything about boys.

My palms have become sweaty. My heart rate has increased dramatically.

My stomach literally feels sick.

Staring into my own eyes through the mirror, it finally hits me.

I’m in love.

I’m so in love.

And I’m absolutely terrified.

Taking a deep breath, I shut off the bathroom light and make my way to the living room. Then, suddenly, my gaze sets on Jaxon.

Wearing a black suit and a red tie, with his hair nicely brushed back, he’s never looked quite this handsome. His face drops the second he notices my appearance, and right away, he straightens his posture.

He steps toward me, beaming at me in astonishment.

“How do I look?” I ask quietly, barely any sound in my voice.

“Wow,” he breathes, gazing at me with pure disbelief. “I’m utterly speechless.”

I grin sheepishly, and there’s a sparkle in his eyes.

“Sasha…” He hesitates briefly before pulling me against his chest. “You are so beautiful.”

“Thank you,” I say. “I’ll get my coat.”

“There’s no need,” he lets out, taking my hand in his. “The date I have planned, we don’t even need to leave this suite.”

“What?” I ask, following closely behind him.

He leads me toward a set of doors I have yet to notice until now, and before I can even make sense of it, my mouth falls agape. I’m only moments away from having a candlelit dinner with Jaxon, in a heated igloo, right on our own private balcony.

It can’t get any more sensual than this.
